"Halloween Aqua World 2026" starts on October 1st! A "Halloween Tank" will appear inside the aquarium, where eerily glowing flashlight fish will create a Halloween atmosphere. In addition, the tank of the tufted puffins, whose swimming movements resemble bats in the dark of night, will be transformed into a Halloween theme. The daily "Tufted Puffin Feeding Time" will also be a Halloween version, offering a program where you can observe the puffins swimming.

A Halloween aquarium with eerily glowing flashlight fish
We will be exhibiting flashlight fish in a tank decorated in a Halloween theme. Flashlight fish have a characteristic of hiding in dark places such as caves, so you can observe them hiding in the shadows of the tank and among the "ghost pumpkins" placed in the specially prepared tank. The light emitted from the flashlight fish's bioluminescent organs will create a spooky atmosphere unique to Halloween.
*Dark curtains will be installed around the special aquarium to protect the exhibited creatures.

Tufted Puffin's Munching Time: Halloween Version
The tufted puffin is characterized by its black feathers, and when it swims underwater, it looks almost like a bat flapping its wings. During the event period, the exhibit tank will be decorated in a Halloween theme. In addition, "Tufted Puffin Feeding Time" will be a special version focusing on underwater feeding so that you can see the tufted puffins swimming underwater, and we will explain in detail the differences in how they use their wings in the air and underwater.

Saturday, October 31stHalloween Craft Experience
Our museum's volunteer club, "Mambora Club," will be hosting a craft workshop on Saturday, October 31st, 2026. Together with our volunteer staff, you can create Halloween-themed wreaths and other items using origami and other materials. You can take your finished creation home with you.

During the "Halloween Aqua World 2026" event, "NIGHT AQUAWORLD" in October will be transformed into a Halloween version, offering a vibrant and fantastical atmosphere inspired by Halloween. In the Eternal Ocean Zone, unlike the usual "NIGHT AQUAWORLD," "ghost pumpkin" lighting will appear everywhere. Inside the aquarium, you can observe the behavior of the creatures in a way that differs from the daytime, and there will also be Halloween-only programs.

A completely different look from daytime? Halloween aquarium - night version -
During the day, the flashlight fish hide among the "ghost pumpkins" and in the shadows of the Halloween tank, but at night they begin to swim actively within the tank. Be sure to observe the difference between day and night in the special tank exhibit, where the creatures and Halloween decorations change dramatically from daytime to nighttime.

CanadaOtter's late-night snack time - Halloween version -
"Canadian River Otter's Late-Night Snack Time" will have a Halloween version, with commentary from the zookeepers, and the otters will be given a special Halloween-themed late-night snack. The adorable sight of the otters receiving their special snack is a must-see.

At the entrance, we will give each visitor one of our original stickers featuring the flashlight fish. Like the flashlight fish's bioluminescent organs, this sticker glows in the dark.
