Ocean Terrace will be hosting the unique "Animal Sports Day" for the first time!

In conjunction with this event, the outdoor area "Ocean Terrace" will be hosting a special event where you can enjoy the pleasant autumn breeze.sports fallWe will hold an animal sports day with the theme of "Athletic activities for animals!" All of the Humboldt penguins, Southern fur seals, and California sea lions that live at Ocean Terrace will be there! This will be the first time that a program with all of these different animals will be held at Ocean Terrace♪

The Humboldt penguins, who are adorable as they trot along, use their habit of hopping from rock to rock to reach the goal by jumping under and over obstacles such as hurdles and stairs.

At this big athletic meet, the popular Southern American fur seals at Ocean Terrace will be taking on a program outside the exhibition tank for the first time! They will demonstrate their warm-up exercises and athlete's oaths, making full use of their flexible bodies! You can observe their various expressions from a closer distance than usual. In addition, the California sea lions, who attract attention with their dynamic performances, will liven up the athletic meet by taking poses that make use of their dexterous sense of balance and powerful, agile movements!

Beautiful autumn leaves expressed with sardines in "IWASHI LIFE - Autumn Version"

The popular program "IWASHI LIFE" features a large tank of the Sea of ​​Encounters, where approximately 20,000 sardines move dynamically in schools.autumn leavesWe are delivering this autumn version that expresses the theme of autumn leaves. Special exhibition "What are the SDGs at Aqua World Oarai?"

To coincide with SDGs Week, we will be holding an event to introduce the content and results of the sustainability activities that we have undertaken so far. By learning about the state of our local environment through the exhibits of creatures collected in beach seine surveys at the mouth of the Nakagawa River, adjacent to the aquarium, this event will encourage people to think about what we can do today to contribute to the future.

Introducing the "Kochia Aquarium" inspired by the autumnal "Miharashi Hill"

Blooming Aqua World Oarai is a collaboration project featuring beautiful seasonal flowers, plants and fish, and with the cooperation of Hitachi Seaside Park, we will be exhibiting a kochia tank, a feature unique to the aquarium, in the fall when the kochia blooms in vibrant red. More details will be announced at a later date.

A special event "En-ya" where you can enjoy the popular "Night Aquarium x Sake"

　The adults-only aquarium event "Utageya" will be held for the first time in three years as a one-night special event!
