Aqua World OaraiFormulating a new tagline for sustainability activities

Aqua World Oarai opened in March 2002 with the basic theme of "The Sea and Nature of Ibaraki, the Sea of the World and the Global Environment," and has been working on various initiatives to conserve the diversity of living creatures and the natural environment since before the term "SDGs" was even coined. In addition to exhibiting creatures in the aquarium, we have also continued educational outreach activities, such as holding lectures where visitors can learn about living creatures together with the keepers, with the aim of deepening interest in living creatures and the marine environment.

This time, Aqua World Oarai will be celebrating SDGs Week by looking back on its sustainability activities to date and introducing a new tagline based on its efforts and results."Mirai Try Ooarai"This will clarify the direction of our future activities and further our efforts towards achieving the SDGs.

This tagline expresses our desire to continue challenging ourselves to do what we can for a sustainable future at Aqua World Oarai. We also wrote "Mirai" in hiragana so that it can be familiar to a wide range of generations, from children to adults. The design of the logo mark expresses our desire to continue challenging ourselves toward the future by varying the size of the letters and the length of the diagonal lines, and uses the colors of the 17 SDGs to express our strong will to promote activities toward the realization of a sustainable society as a whole.
