First exhibition at our museum! Jellyfish “Cotylorhiza tuberculata”

From May 6, 5, our museum will be exhibiting the jellyfish ``Cotylorhiza tuberculata'' for the first time!

Cotylorhiza tuberculata

This jellyfish is often seen in the Mediterranean Sea and has beautiful blue-purple appendages on its mouth and arms. In English, it is also called "Fried Egg Jellyfish" because it looks like a fried egg when viewed from above. The specimen on display is still white, but I'm looking forward to seeing how it will change in the future.

Exhibition placeJellyfish backyard peephole corner
(Second floor mysterious sea zone)
*Depending on the situation, exhibitions may be changed or canceled.

The specimen on display this time was kindly provided by Tsuruoka City Kamo Aquarium in Yamagata Prefecture.
Enjoy the mysterious world of jellyfish with the addition of new creatures.
