Ibaraki Prefecture is holding the "Ibaraki Destination Campaign" (hereinafter referred to as "Ibaraki DC") from October 2023st to December 5st, 10 (Reiwa 1).

What is a destination campaign?
Destination Campaign (hereinafter referred to as "DC") is a collaboration between six JR Group companies (JR Hokkaido, JR East, JR Tokai, JR West, JR Shikoku, and JR Kyushu) and the region (prefecture, municipality, local tourism operator, etc.). It is the largest tourism campaign in Japan that we carry out together.
During Ibaraki DC, Aqua World Oarai offers a variety of experience programs.
Please fully enjoy the many experiences that you cannot experience in everyday life!
Shark special tour (with feeding experience)
This is a special backyard tour specializing in "sharks", which boasts the largest number of kept species in Japan!

- Children under the age of 3 can participate, but please refrain from participating in strollers. (Strollers will be kept at the entrance of the backyard.)
- After the meeting time, it will be canceled.Also, refunds are not possible.
- The backyard is wet and slippery.Please be careful of your feet.
- You may look into the water tank from above.Please be careful not to drop anything in the water tank.
- Please refrain from taking photos and videos in the backyard.
- If you are unable to purchase a ticket for your companion due to sold out, please contact the general information desk.
Backyard tour
We will guide you behind the scenes of the aquarium where the aquarium keepers work, with commentary from the keepers.

During the Ibaraki DC period (October to December), a special bus is in operation to take you around Aqua World, Oarai, Fish Market, and Hitachi Seaside Park on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.The bus will travel along the coastline, so you can enjoy spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean.Please use all means!
